ANECT Successfully Passed Cisco Brand Protection Audit
In June, ANECT a.s. successfully passed a demanding Cisco Brand Protection Audit, the aim of which was to check whether ANECT uses only official Cisco products and does not buy any in the grey market (or even use mock devices). The audit team also took a close look at registration, and checked if all of the purchased devices are registered exactly as required by Cisco regulations.

ANECT Implemented Electronic Operations Documentation at Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs
With the new system the ministry now has a great tool to document all of their ICT assets, and monitor any changes related to them
ANECT a.s. implemented a new application called ePD (Electronic Operations Documentation) at the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MPSV). The application will help the ministry to centralize and visualize their ICT environment documentation, and link each ICT item in it to related technical, maintenance and logistics information.

ANECT Is Now Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Authorized Technology Provider
Having achieved this level of specialization, ANECT a.s. is now one of the three companies in the Czech Republic authorized to provide the Cisco UCS solution.
In June, ANECT became a Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Authorized Technology Provider. Having reached this level of specialization, ANECT has proven its proficiency and expertise in designing and implementing virtualized server systems for data centers that are based on the Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) technology. ANECT is thus also authorized to deliver this complex technology solution. This achievement was preceded by a number of personal advanced expert certificates as well as major investments in laboratory and demo equipment. An important part of this activity is ANECT´s growing collaboration with EMC (data storage systems) and VMware (virtualization technologies).

ANECT – Check Point Reseller of 2009
At the annual Check Point Software Technologies Partners Conference, this year held in Budapest, Hungary, ANECT a.s. became the "Check Point Reseller of The Year 2009 in Eastern Europe". Compared to 2008, ANECT´s new business increased by 253 percent, in new products even by 289 percent.

ANECT´s Customers and Partners Encountered Extraterrestrial Civilization
Saturday 12 June 2010 was the Day for Customers and Partners of ANECT a.s. The event is held every year; this time it was called "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and took place at the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Ondřejov. The visitors could learn a lot about the secrets of the universe and extraterrestrial civilizations. The organizers had plenty of contests and attractive activities to choose from, including a tour of the Ondřejov Observatory. ANECT has already organized this type of event for the seventh time – the previous years were about planes, horses, ships, the Middle Ages, Africa and fairy-tale characters.

ANECT Attended Czech-Spanish Energy Forum
ANECT attended the Czech-Spanish Energy Forum, which took place in Madrid from 24 to 28 April. The conference participants had a chance to join a number of expert workshops and bilateral discussions held under the auspices of Karel Beran, the Czech Ambassador in Spain. At the end of the conference, there was a meeting with representatives of leading energy industry corporations in Spain (the Spanish Confederation of Employers´ Organizations – CEOE).

ANECT Employees Donated 18.5 Litres of Blood
On 22 April 2010, the Czech IT company ANECT a.s. organized the third "Blood Donors Day" for its employees. Company volunteers could donate their blood in the Prague office or in the facilities of Brno University Hospital. This time there were forty-two employees altogether who joined the event and donated 18.5 litres of blood for hospitals.

ANECT Became Partner of ISSS 2010 Conference
ANECT a.s. became a partner of the 13th ISSS Conference (Internet ve státní správě a samosprávě – Internet in national and local governments), one of the most important events of this kind in Central and South-Eastern Europe. This year the conference will take place in Hradec Králové (April 11 to 13), offer 250 talks and presentations, and introduce over a hundred services and technologies developed for public administration. The conference will be held under the auspices of the Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer, the Czech Minister of the Interior Martin Pecina and the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic.

ANECT became a partner of the 8th year of the prestigious competition Zlatá koruna. This year the competition, awarding the best financial products in the Czech market, is held under the auspices of Eduard Janota, the Czech Minister of Finance. There are altogether fifteen awards in fifteen different categories.

In January 2010, ANECT a.s., a Czech owned company focusing on system integration in information and communication technologies, became the first Gold Partner of Extreme Networks in the Czech Republic. ANECT Employees Raising Money for Haiti
In January 2010, ANECT Fund Board started raising money for the victims of the Haiti tragedy. The company employees donated CZK 54,951 in total; the same amount was then donated by the company. The money will be sent to the SOS Haiti account of the humanitarian organization People in Need.

On Thursday, November 19, 2009, prizes for the best theses in Bachelor and Engineer Programs were awarded at the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. On 25 and 26 November 2009, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bratislava hosted Cisco Expo Slovakia, the largest conference on information and communication technologies in the country.
