ANECT Attended Czech-Spanish Energy Forum
ANECT attended the Czech-Spanish Energy Forum, which took place in Madrid from 24 to 28 April. The conference participants had a chance to join a number of expert workshops and bilateral discussions held under the auspices of Karel Beran, the Czech Ambassador in Spain. At the end of the conference, there was a meeting with representatives of leading energy industry corporations in Spain (the Spanish Confederation of Employers´ Organizations – CEOE).
The meeting was attended by José García-Morales, the CEOE International Relations Director; Tomáš Hüner, the Vice Minister for Energy Industry; Josef Fiřt, the Head of the Czech Energy Regulatory Office, and representatives of 13 Czech and 19 international energy industry corporations and institutions. ANECT was represented by their new Telco & Utility Manager Martin Heran, who attended the conference to find new business contacts.
The conference workshop on Day 1 focused on the "Economic situation in Spain". On the following days, the workshops were primarily dealing with issues such as the situation in the Spanish energy sector, renewable resources and energy efficiency. Other workshops searched for new collaboration opportunities between Spain and the Czech Republic in energy industry projects and complex energy buildings in the EU zone.
The conference participants agreed on organizing a follow-up conference in Prague called "The Trends in European Energy Industries" that will probably take place on 20 September 2010. The conference topic will be regional markets (Czech Republic – Slovakia; Spain – Portugal), as these are an unavoidable step toward a unified European market.
