ANECT Successfully Passed ISO/IEC 20000
Supervisory Audit
In June 2011, the Czech IT company ANECT successfully passed an ISO/IEC 20000 supervisory audit, carried out by DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV). ISO/IEC 20000 is a global IT services management standard, the aim of which is to improve the quality and efficiency of IT processes, and reduce the costs related to them. It was ANECT that helped in 2006 to introduce this standard in the Czech Republic by elaborating its Czech version for the Czech Institute of Standards and Norms.
"Our compliance with the ISO/IEC 20000 requirements confirmed by the audit clearly shows that ANECT´s way of organizing work as well as service management and processes are very professional. The auditor highly praised particularly ANECT´s Business Relationship Management, Service Level Management and Service Continuity," said Ladislav Herynek, ANECT Operations Manager.
The IT Service Management standard ISO/IEC 20000 is based on the UK standard BS 15000 and it is aligned with the process approach defined by the UK Office of Government Commerce (OGC) in the IT Infrastructure Library methodology (ITIL). The standard requires IT services providers to use the principles of process management; to define, measure and assess the quality of services they provide to their customers; and to improve them continuously.
So far the number of Czech companies with this certificate is rather small – and most of those who do have it are ICT service providers themselves. Nonetheless, the ISO/IEC 20000 standard can be also beneficial for non-IT businesses: once they get their own IT department certified, they will be sure the processes and services provided by their IT staff are up to the latest standard. By being a leader in this area, ANECT has enough experience to help their customers to become certified with ISO.
