ANECT Will Support Various Projects with Nearly 70,000 CZK

The ANECT Fund Board allocated almost 70,000 CZK in July to give support to four projects, and also to help two people who happened to get into a difficult life situation. Since the beginning of this year, the Board has received eight requests for Fund´s financial support.

With one exception all of the requests have been approved by the Board. The only project that was dismissed was a pre-election web project focusing on changes on the Czech political scene. Political activities, however, are not among the areas which the Fund Board intends to support.

The amount of 5,000 CZK was donated to the Wheelchair Riders Sports Club, the organizer of the Sixteenth Czech Table Tennis Championship for Wheelchair Players (both individuals and teams of two). The next donation went to the Duha Kopretina Association, which received 16,000 CZK for a film projector and a screen to be installed and used in a new club room for children.

Another applicant, the Čtyřlístek Day Care Center, which is run by the local branch office of the Association of Physically Handicapped People in Louny, will receive 20,000 CZK. The money will be used for purchasing a PC, accessories and a printer. ANECT has also donated new UPS batteries to the Call Center of the Safety Line Association (Linka bezpečí). The batteries were worth 9,382 CZK.

Apart from these projects, the ANECT Fund Board also helped two people in trouble who were facing a very difficult situation. Both requests were initiated by ANECT employees and each of the applicants received 10,000 CZK.

The ANECT Fund Board has been organizing socially beneficial activities for years – recently it was e.g. "Money for Haiti", "ANECT Blood Donation Days" (days on which some of the company employees donate their blood to hospitals), and a "Community Day" during which the staff helped various socially handicapped groups.
